About Lida Farm

Lida Farm is a small sustainable vegetable farm in Northern Otter Tail County, in the lakes district of Minnesota.  We grow just about everything we can grow here and sell through our CSA, home deliveries, on-site farm stand, and the Lakes Area Farmers Market in Detroit Lakes, MN.  We specialize in a mix of produce, although we also raise some chickens for meat and eggs as well as operate the world's smallest dairy route with Organic Valley products.

Lida Farm is owned and operated solely by Ryan and Maree Pesch with help from Sylvia, Willem, and Graham.  We also cooperate with our friends and neighbors to provide other foods we do not raise like other meats, flowers, and dairy.

History
Ryan started in farming as an apprentice at Foxtail Farm of Osceola, WI in 2000 and 2001, one of the first CSA operations in the Twin Cities.  After learning the ropes of vegetable production and operating a CSA, Ryan and Maree started out on their own in 2002, growing produce on Maree's home farm in Lake Elmo and selling each Saturday at Northeast Minneapolis Farmers Market.  A position with the University of Minnesota Extension brought us to Otter Tail County and we were happy to have an opportunity to start our own farm and family here.
